Villages
It is said that Cephalonia and Ithaca once had the same number of villages as there are days of the year. Despite the march of ‘progress’ and away from the larger conurbations of Argostoli, Lixouri and the main resort areas, it is in the villages and with village people that the true heart of these islands is to be found. The genuine friendliness, the accommodating nature, the impish sense of humour of the islanders; the relaxed, easy going pace of life is to be found in these places - tranquil, quiet, havens offering the rewards of times and places forgotten in our own hectic lifestyles.
